How does the licensing work with Astaro?
|
- For the Hardware Appliance - Each appliance is rated for a certain number of users, however the number of users is not tracked. If you were to go over the suggested amount, you would see performance degradation. You can add e-mail and/or web protection to this appliance.
- For the Software Appliance - The software version is purchased by number of users. The software version tracks the number of local IPs in use. Becuase Astaro protects the entire network, it will consider devices such as printers and IP phones as protection points and count them against your licensing. Be thoughtful when planning an Astaro deployment using the software version. You can add e-mail and/or web protection to this appliance.
- For the Web Gateway - The web gateway appliance is rated for a given number of users. The number of users is not tracked but you could see performance degradation if the rating is breached. Please check each appliance for its rating.
- For the Mail Gateway - The web gateway appliance is rated for a given number of users. The number of users is not tracked but you could see performance degradation if the rating is breached. Please check each appliance for its rating.
